Anne-Jean Liétaer,

Meet the Designer

Anne-Jean Liétaer, the designer behind House of AnLi, comes from the city of Ghent, in Belgium. She grew up in a family of textile manufacturers, and has cultivated her artistic aptitude since young.

Spontaneous materials-scramblings in her grandfather's lingerie factory, gave Anne-Jean a first-hand intro to her flair in fashion design.

As an Account Executive with the advertising firm DDB Needham, she got in touch with the world of creation and communication. Soon, Anne-Jean progressed as Business Development Manager in Singapore for the Belgian chocolate company, Barry Callebaut.

She traveled extensively through South East Asia, and during these trips, Anne-Jean discovered beautiful handicrafts that could serve as the perfect canvas to express her creative insights. She also saw potential in a market of creativity untapped.

Anne-Jean then advanced as a freelance designer for private Belgian fashion labels, projecting her quirky design style. The love of colorful bags and accessories, brought her into the world of handbag creation. In 2001, her own label House of AnLi was born.

House of AnLi features quirky designs visually translated on natural totes.

Anne-Jean's creations portray commitment to her roots, surprising us with visual cartoonist themes inspired by happy themes like Chocolates, Pastries, French Riviera and other blissful moments.

In 2003, Anne-Jean celebrated the birth of her first child, with the launch of Les Petits d'AnLi, a happy miniature collection of House of AnLi, for dainty little girls.
